Carpe Corpus (Import Edition) (Morganville Vampires) - Rachel Caine I think it's safe to say that I love the Morganville Vampire books by Rachel Caine... however... after reading 6 books in 2.5 weeks I need a break. I broke, unfortunately, right in the middle of Carpe Corpus. Just lost interest in finishing it. I blame two things... reading them in quick succession (as I have said before) and having a social life this week which prevented any steady moments to get sucked into the book. This is a good thing for my soul, but a bad thing for my reading, suffice it to say. That said, let's review what I read of Carpe Corpus... the first 150 pages.Claire Danvers has become an agent of Bishop, the current reigning Vampire baddie of Morganville. Shane has been thrown into jail with his Vampire slaying Father... Michael is working with Bishop but doubling as an agent to Amelie as a spy... and Eve remains at Glass House, regressing to Buffy the protecting badass while she waits for everything to return to normal. Somewhere in all of this chaos Claire discovers that Myrnin has designed a living computer named Ada which is made out of wood and gears and such. It's a bit over the top. It works. However, my attention demands other things right now, so I am bending to the whim of my brain on this one. I saw online that Ghost Town, book 9, releases in late October. Maybe that will be the time for me to return, finish this book, the next two, and then Ghost Town. That's the plan for now, we'll see if I stick to it. I'll suspend a rating for it...for the moment. I want to finish it first. And now, for something completely different. On to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson (which I intend to read slowly, as I'm not huge on mysteries) and Pretties by Scott Westerfeld, which I might burn through like charcoal. So yeah, I'm off.- review courtesy of www.bibliopunkk.net
